Type I medical face masks should only be used for patients and other persons to reduce the risk of spead of infections particularly in epidemic or pandemic situations. 

Type IIR disposable medical face mask also named surgical mask, which are intended for use by healthcare professionals in an operating room or in other medical settings with similar requirements, to pretect the wearer against splashed of potentially contaminated liquids. Surgical Face Mask also prevent the spread of dander and respiratory microorganisms to patiients's open surgical wound. Thus it playing a role of two-way biological protection.

Usually, type I face masks are non sterilized, type IIR mask have two option sterilized or non sterilized.  Sterilzed Type IIR surgical face mask usually each piece or 10 pieces in a bag.
